Ear Stacking 101: How to Start Your Stack with Pulse

|Mary Barcelina
Ear stacking 101: Zo begin je jouw ear stack met de Pulse Collection

You see them everywhere: ears full of subtle studs, charming hoops, and delicate ear cuffs that together form one perfect whole. An ear stack might look complicated at first glance, but the secret is simple: you start with one piece and build from there.

With the Pulse Collection by Eline Rosina, that is easier than ever. All 16 pieces are designed to be combined with one another: from the smallest flatback stud to the most striking suspender earring. In this guide, we show you step-by-step how to build your first ear stack, even if you have never done it before.

Step 1: Start with a flatback stud as a base

Every good ear stack starts with a solid foundation. For beginners, a flatback stud is the perfect starting position: compact, comfortable, and versatile.

With Pulse, you have four studs to choose from:

Where do you wear it? Wear your first Pulse stud in your lobe or in a cartilage piercing slightly higher on your ear. The flatback sits flat against your skin. Comfortable, even when you sleep.

Beginner's tip: Start with the Floating Marquise Flatback Stud . One stone, clean design, and it goes with everything.

Step 2: Add a heap with charm

Now that your foundation is in place, it is time to add movement. And you do that with a lot combined with a Pulse charm .

Choose your hope:

The Pulse collection has three hoops:

  • Floating Phoebe Hoops — featuring five floating zirconia stones that move with you. Beautiful already without the charm.
  • Mia Hoops— round zirconia stones along the hoop for a subtle, even sparkle.
  • Pulse Marquise Hoops— marquise-shaped zirconia stones for the ultimate it-girl look.

Choose your charm:

All six Pulse charms hang from your hoop and give it a floating effect:

  • Remi Charm— combination of a round and a teardrop-shaped stone. Playful and light.
  • Dean Charm— three marquise stones stacked on top of each other. Modern and straight.
  • Cleo Charm— a single marquise stone that seems to float. Minimalist and refined.
  • Small Cleo Charm — the smaller version of the Cleo. Subtle and delicate.
  • Alex Charm— teardrop-shaped stone with a soft, organic appearance.
  • Small Alex Charm— the miniature version of the Alex for an extra subtle floating effect.

Where do you wear it? Wear your hoop with the charm in your earlobe, just below or next to your flatback stud. The charm hangs freely downwards, catching the light with every movement.

Beginner's tip: Combine the Mia Hoops with the Cleo Charm for a clean, floating look that never feels overdone.

Step 3: Add an ear cuff for extra dimension

You now have a stud and a lot — your ear stack is starting to take shape. The finishing touch? An ear cuff.

The best thing about an ear cuff: you don't need an extra piercing for it. It clips over the edge of your ear and sits surprisingly securely.

Pulse has two ear cuffs:

  • Floating Marquise Ear Cuff — floating marquise zirconia stones along the rim of your ear. Striking, but never overdone.
  • Mia Ear Cuff— set with 15 zirconia stones for a row of subtle sparkle along your ear.

Where do you wear it? Attach your ear cuff to the top edge of your ear, just above your helix, or on the outside of your earlobe. It visually connects your stud and hoop and gives your stack extra height and structure.

Beginner's tip: The Mia Ear Cuff is the easiest entry point. Subtle enough for everyday use, but with enough sparkle to complete your stack.

Step 4 (optional): Add movement with the chain connector or suspender

Have you got a taste for it? Then you are ready for the more adventurous Pulse pieces.

Amie Chain Connector The chain connector connects two piercings or huggies with a subtle chain. The result is a look that feels effortlessly stylish and unique; as if your ear stack is perfectly coordinated.

Allie Suspender Earring The Allie is the statement piece of the Pulse collection. It goes through a single ear piercing and hangs through your ear with a butterfly clasp at the back. The result? An eye-catcher that instantly takes your ear stack to the next level.

The golden rules of ear stacking

Whether you are just starting out or are already a seasoned ear stacker, these tips will always help you:

Start small. One stud and one hoop is already an ear stack. You don't have to do everything at once.

Mix small and larger earrings for a playful, balanced look. A delicate stud next to a larger hoop is always a beautiful combination.

Less is more.  A single Pulse charm on your favorite hoop can make all the difference.

Combine all Pulse pieces. That is the best thing about this collection: everything works with everything. No wrong combinations.
