Summer is coming and that means that we will spend a lot of time on the beach, go for a swim and, above all, put on a lot of sunscreen. But our jewelry is not a fan of all that salt water, chlorine pools and various creams. There is therefore a chance that the jewelry will discolor or become dull. Fortunately, we have a number of tips for you on how to take good care of your jewelry during the summer months.
A bath for your jewelryJewelry is an extra beautiful accessory in the summer. And certainly on a beautifully bronzed skin! Your sparkly treasures now really get the chance to shine through the reflection of the sun. It is therefore very understandable that you do not always want to take off your jewelry during a day at the beach or pool. It is important that you clean the jewelry properly afterwards. Then make a bath for your jewelry at the end of the day:
- First rinse your jewelry with clean water as soon as possible
- Make a solution of lukewarm water with a few drops of mild detergent
- Let the jewelry soak for 15 to 20 minutes
- Then rinse the jewelry with tap water and dry it.
Has your jewelry become a bit dull? Then use a soft toothbrush to clean your earrings or necklace. If you have a link chain, you can also easily reach everything with the soft toothbrush.
Do you want to make sure that your jewelry stays beautiful this summer? Then it is wise to take off your jewelery while swimming in a chlorine bath or in the sea. In addition, it is important to ensure that your jewelry comes into contact with sunscreen as little as possible. After you have rubbed yourself in, let the sunscreen soak in well before you put on your jewellery.
